Something Real (Reckless & Real #2)
by Lexi Ryan

I love the way Lexi Ryan tells a story.
This was the perfect mix of heartbreak, scandal and HOTNESS!

It seems like the timing is never right for Sam and Liz.  There's always something or someone trying to come between them. After the fallout in Something Reckless, Liz fled New Hope. Leaving behind Sam and all her friends and family. She's working on the governor's presidential campaign and just existing.  Trying to forget about Sam.  Even with a sexy neighbor next door, it's pointless.  She's been in love with Sam forever.

"You've always been my girl."

Sam's life is pretty much in shambles. Liz is gone and politics are dictating his life.  Just when he wakes up and realizes he wants something real with Liz, a past transgression comes back to haunt him.  It's a tangled web of blackmail, lies and stolen moments. It's heartbreaking to see all the obstacles they have to overcome, but it's so worth it in the end.

"I want to take care of you. I want to put babies in your belly. I want us to grow old holding each other's hand."

One of the best things about Lexi Ryan's books is her ability to build up the anticipation. Throughout both of Liz and Sam's books, I was sitting on the edge of my seat, flying through the pages, dying to know if things would finally come together for them. With their history and the people around them interfering, its an emotional roller coaster. They share some really sweet moments and have insane chemistry, which makes for some seriously HOT scenes.

I'm hoping that we get to see more of Sam and Liz in Max's books. Did I mention how excited I am for his series? I love that each spin-off series sort of overlaps and includes characters that I have fallen for in the past. I can't wait to see what she has in store for Max.

4.5/5 Fangs
