Under the Orange Moon by Adrienne Frances

This is the story of Dylan Matthews and Ben McKenna.

Dylan has five brothers. Her twin brother is best friends with the man she has loved half of her life.

Ben is back in town for Christmas. He is the product of a dysfunctional family. His mother uses meds and alcohol to deal with her depression. His father is making a new family and has never been involved in Ben's life.

Thankfully, the Matthews family has always had his back. He was practically adopted by them. Dylan's mom has been his second mom. He even calls her this. He has wanted Dylan for a while but he's scared of crossing that line and having her brothers upset at him. But, five years is a long time and we he sees Dylan again he can't keep himself away.

If only he could stop feeling like he didn't deserve to be happy.

Here lies my problem with Ben. He seems to lack the maturity to love her without caring about anyone else. Dylan is entitled to happiness and by him not daring to tell the brothers about them, he hurts her multiple times. He needed to choose her. Still this minor moment of angst doesn't take away of a sweet story.

I was happy I read it and I wonder if the rest of the single brothers will get their own story.

3.5/5 Fangs
